Adjustable Blade Spacing
PRECISE WORK. Thanks to adjustable blade spacing, you can process vine cuttings and similar woody matter precisely and comfortably. Operation and switch-off are easy to use via the control unit. Select the desired blade spacing on the task. If you want to change to full blade spacing for thicker branches, simply double-click on the gear lever. Then, double-click and hold down to close the blades.
Progressive Cut
CONTROLLED AND PRECISE. For maximum cutting control and very precise cuts, the movement of the blade follows the movement of the finger on the control lever during cutting. The blade only closes as far as the control lever is pressed and opens again immediately when the lever is released.

The STIHL ASA 140 Battery-Powered Secateurs are designed for professional pruning in vineyards, landscaping applications, tree care and on large properties. Part of the STIHL AP Battery System, they deliver fast, precise cutting performance while reducing the effort required during long working days.
Powered by an interchangeable 36-volt STIHL AP battery, the ASA 140 can cut branches and plant material up to 45 mm in diameter with a clean, controlled cut. Its lightweight and well-balanced design, combined with a soft rubber grip, provides excellent comfort during extended periods of use.
The progressive cutting system allows the blade movement to follow the position of the trigger, giving the operator greater control when making precise cuts. Fast blade closing speed and strong cutting performance help improve productivity across demanding pruning applications.
Two blade opening widths can be selected by double-clicking the trigger. Choose the 25 mm setting for smaller branches or the full 45 mm opening for larger material.
An integrated display provides clear information, including:
• Remaining battery charge
• Selected blade opening width
• Number of cuts completed since the tool was switched on
• Maintenance notification indicator
The ASA 140 has an IPX4 rating, making it splashproof and suitable for use in adverse weather conditions.
When used with the recommended STIHL AP 300 S battery, the ASA 140 can complete approximately 9,000 cuts on a full charge, providing enough capacity for around a full day of professional use.
